No. It records nothing, stores nothing and has no electronics inside. It is a solid printed body that looks like a mounted 360 camera and nothing else. That is the entire point — there is nothing in it worth stealing.

Anything with a standard 1/4"-20 screw — the same thread used by tripods, suction mounts and most roof and window mounts. The insert is brass, set into the plastic with heat, so it takes repeated mounting without stripping.

Yes. There is nothing inside to get wet — no battery, no board, no seams that matter. Rain, snow and road spray are not a problem for a solid ASA part.

Write the honest answer once it has been through one. Note that in an automatic wash the limiting factor is almost certainly the suction mount, not the decoy — the same as it would be with a real camera up there. Most people would take either one down first.

What holds it on is the mount, not us. Whatever your suction mount is rated to carry with a real camera on it applies here too. Be specific about what you tested — speed, mount type, duration — and do not generalise beyond it.

It is printed in ASA specifically to avoid that. ASA is the material used for exterior automotive trim because it holds colour and strength under UV, and it does not soften in a hot car the way PLA does.

TBD We do not yet have long-term outdoor data of our own. Say how long the oldest test part has been on a roof once that number is worth quoting.

They get a piece of printed plastic, and you replace a cheap part instead of a camera. That is the trade.

But be clear about the limit: it protects the camera, not the car. Someone pulling it off can still damage the mount, mark the paint, or break a suction cup. If they are willing to do damage, a decoy does not stop that — it only changes what leaves with them.

We would rather tell you that here than argue about it later.

We do not promise that, and nobody honestly can. A visible camera on a roof may make someone pick a different car — that is a reasonable thing to hope for, not a guarantee to sell you.

Buy it for the first reason: so the real camera is not sitting outside in the first place.
